What The Chic Is She Wearing? King Cobra

I partnered with a brand based out of Boston called Guapske. The brand is run by Carl Harrison and is inspired by Japanese culture, the motivation to be a boss and influencer. Totally my speed. I snagged this killer coaches jacket titled King Cobra. I loved the vibrant red color and the fierce tiger embroidered on the back. Spring 2017 is all about making a statement and this jacket does just that. I paired it with a fitted black jumpsuit to not only give the jacket it’s shine, but add a little feminine sultriness to a menswear piece.

Let’s be bold and brash this Spring 2017.

What The Chic is She Wearing? Werk With What You Got

Right now, EVERYONE who’s everyone is wearing this coveted Gucci logo tee. From Bloggers on Instagram to fashion influencers at Fashion Weeks around the world, this little tee is getting it’s shine. Anyone would be tempted to add this top to their wardrobe, but priced at $420, this piece is way above my budget! So off to my closet I go…remembering that I purchased a similar tee from Obey like 5 years prior, and could recreate the Gucci tee look accurately. I paired the tee with a faux leather skirt, platform sneakers and threw a fur sleeved coat over for a little added drama. Grabbed my chain detailed bag for a designer element and kept on moving.

It’s not about splurging all the time, but about using what you got.

What The Chic Is She Wearing? Rose All Day

I wouldn’t consider myself a tomboy, but I can admit that I cannot stand the color pink. i went through a short phase in middle school when I was obsessed with all shades of pink and vowed that my first vehicle would be bubble gum pink, but that did not last longer than six months. I may have overwhelmed myself and went from loving the color to hating it. However, all shades of pink are EVERYWHERE for the upcoming Spring/Summer season. Just like any trend, I made it my own, as the only shade of pink I can tolerate is a rose.

I purchased this bomber last year and wore it a few times because I loved the shade so much, and the versatility of it. I didn’t think it was going to be so on trend until I saw a few designers using the shade for their Trans and Spring/Summer collections. I paired the bomber with a black and white slip dress layer over a turtleneck, and fell in love with how the bomber popped against the dress. I slipped on my go-to sock booties and stepped out.

The best fashion finds are those you find ahead of the trends.

What The Chic Is She Wearing? Living In Leopard

Right now, one of the hottest pieces this season is the leopard coat. You can’t scroll through Instagram, Pinterest, or a fashion site without seeing a look that includes a leopard coat. When I snagged this coat a few years ago at a local thrift shop, I couldn’t help but want to pair it with EVERYTHING. I threw this coat over a chambray top and a pair of dark wash denim, and let the coat bring the look up several notches. I slid on some backless mules, for a little menswear flair and kept it moving!

It may be a cold winter, but I’m heating it up with my style.

What The Chic Is She Wearing? Coated In Chic

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…the time of year when you can’t leave the house without a coat. But wearing a coat doesn’t mean you have to cover up a killer look underneath, you can create a look around the outerwear. I snagged this leather and faux fur coat on on an impromptu stop at the thrift shop; and it caught my attention the minute I saw the green hue and the fur peeking out of the rack. It really reminded me of this Acne Studios shearling coat I’ve been lusting over, but for more reasons than one, that designer piece is over my head (right now).

The green hue is unique, but plays into the trendy, minimalist vibe. The faux fur gives the coat more depth and edge. I paired the coat with a lace up sweater to add a cozy vibe to the look and a pair of thigh high leather boots to play up the edginess of the coat.

Who says a coat has to cover your look? Make it your look.

What The Chic Is She Wearing? Drama on My Sleeves…

Every now and then, I like to take a simple look and kick up with a little bit of drama. This time, I decided to throw a striped bell sleeve top with one of my favorite pairs of high waist pants. Bell sleeves are everywhere, from designers such as Ellery, Theory  and Roksanda. I love the femininity the bell sleeve detail adds, and the endless possibilities it adds to a look. Pair this top under a structured leather jacket and let the bell sleeves hang out of the jacket, or push up the sleeves of your blazer to make for a funky look. I kept the drama going by throwing on a pair of chunky heel sock booties to punctuate the look.

All it takes is a little drama to turn up the volume.

What The Chic Is She Wearing? It’s The Bomb

Bombers are EVERYWHERE right now, and they’ve become a staple in everyone’s wardrobe. I’ll admit that I have about five in wardrobe, that I’ve collected over the past two years. I love how versatile they can be and how they can dress down an entire look. I paired this olive bomber with a white tunic top, cropped denim and heeled booties for a easy, downtown feel. I like the easy and effortlessness of the look, perfect for brunch or lunch with the girls.
How bomb is this new wardrobe staple?

What The Chic Is She Wearing? Athleisure At It’s Best

I’m the kinda girl that has to be forced to go to the gym by my friends or bribe myself to workout. So wearing clothing that reminds me of any kind of exercise ain’t really my thang. However, I’m open to trying almost anything. I snagged these joggers for $10 at Six 02, and I loved the perforated texture of them and the ultra high waist. So why not dip into the athleisure trend? I paired the joggers with a mesh turtleneck bodysuit, a cross back bra underneath, and threw on my Creepers to continue the sportiness of the look.
This athleisure look is a home run, but whether I head to the gym or not is TBD. 😉

What The Chic Is She Wearing? Falling for Floral

The minute Autumn rolls around, we’re already dead set on falling leaves, pumpkin, apple picking and the much coveted pumpkin spice EVERYTHING. However, this fall is all about the floral trend. Yeah, florals for fall. The trick to pulling off the fall floral trend is to choose florals with a dark background, or break out your spring florals and pair them with fall pieces, such as an oxblood colored bootie, or a velvet skirt.
This blouse is the perfect marriage of the floral trend for spring and fall, because of the gunmetal background, crepe material and delicate design of the florals. I’m also obsessed with the v-neck and the center pleat. I added a wide brim hat, a shearling trimmed leather backpack and suede booties to play up the fall vibe. What a cool fall look for a night on the town – or pumpkin picking.
Florals for Fall? Groundbreaking.

What The Chic Is She Wearing? Laced Up

Lace has always been a staple feminine piece, that has the ability to add sex appeal to almost any look. Lace is appearing everywhere right now, as fashion is pulling details and trend inspiration from the 80’s, where lace was a serious staple in everyone’s wardrobe. I slipped this bodysuit on underneath a pair of high waist vintage jeans and topped it off with a double breasted blazer.
I’m so into this blazer and the crisp, tailored vibe it added to my look. The gold buttons gave it a sense of class and modernity, and the cinched in waist just accentuated my figure and complemented the feminine aspect of the lace bodysuit. I threw on a velvet choker and leopard booties to play up that 80’s vibe.
Feelin’ like a boss chick straight from the 80’s.
